A Tandoori Delight

Some days back I wanted to go to a new place to eat, but we just couldn't decide and then we discovered "Tandoori Village".Tandoori village is in sector 63,noida. The place is new and has a cool and soothing ambiance. We ordered for a Non-veg kebab platter. The service was good and food was served comparatively quite fast. But the problem was that some of the kebabs were a little dry. On the other hand some of them were juicy, succulent and lovely.
So on appetizers i will give it
3.5/5 STARS

where ever i go these days, i always feel like ordering Palak Paneer, it is like this urge to order this delicacy, but most often meet with disappointment. As soon as i saw palak paneer, i ordered it.
we also ordered Mutton Rogan Josh and Butter Naans and Lachcha Paranthas.

The Palak paneer was awesome dish. The layer of cream on it was like damn good, the paneer was succulent, soft well seasoned and the gravy just made the experience unforgettable.
The Lachcha Paranthas were good but not extra-ordinary, but after the wonderful paneer dish we were a little disappointed with the mutton. The mutton's gravy was quite good but the mutton itself could have been a little more soft.
Tandoori village is a very good example of restaurant that believe in good and soulful food rather over sophisticated presentation and also serves quite a good amount too.
Overall i would say that tandoori village has nailed both the courses.

It has a joint in Great India Place(sec-18) and one in Sec-63, and is must visit place for all

I will give it
4/5 Stars

Adding to the wonderful food they serve, the place is quiet, calm and is a place you can actually take your family along with. At the same time the service is good and friendly. Yet the prices aren't exorbitantly high.
"We first eat with our eyes and then with our mouth",the restaurant even surpasses in this category too. Overall it gets.
4/5 stars for service and
3/5 stars for efficiency

The magnificent buffets.

  • Nowadays we do see a lot of new restaurants serving buffet to the customers. The first impression that people have is that if you don't have a huge appetite the buffet is wasted. People still believe that its better to just order for something from the a la carte menu. I totally disagree. I have observed that in such restaurants, the a la carte prices are so hiked up that even ordering the bare minimum the price exceeds the budget. We all should comprehend that it is not the quantity the buffet is meant for instead it is for the variety. In a buffet, you can have soups, 2-3 starters, 3 veg and 3 non-veg main courses and 2-3 deserts, as much as you want at around 500-600 bucks. At certain joints they also give you a complementary beverage.

So here is a list of the greatest buffet joints, that will provide you the best experience of dining, you have ever had.
  • Oh!Calcutta.(Nehru Place, Delhi): This restaurant is one of the many brands of the specialty group of restaurants. This restaurant has at least one dine in joint in most of the metropolitan cities which include Kolkata, Delhi and Bangalore. This restaurant has revolutionized Bengali authentic food, it has taken elements of Bengali cuisine and presented it to the world and has taken it altogether a different dimension. The buffet here cost Rs. 550 + taxes. In which you are served with 2 delicious starters,      2 soups, salads, 3 mouth watering main courses served with rice or Indian breads, and last but definitely not the least 2-3 awesome deserts. All of there delicacies are distinct from one another and tastes like something you have never tasted before. When i first went there, i was awed by the food and it still reserves a very special place in my heart. It is a must place for all those non-residential  "Bengalis" who miss their own Bengali food such as "SHUKTO"," MOCHA'R CHOP" etc
         Overall I will give it
         8/10 Stars
  • Mainland china(GK-2 New Delhi): This joint is considered one of the greatest when it comes to Chinese cuisine. They serve wide array of proteins such as squids, Peking duck, shrimps and lobsters and even turkey during the Christmas season. Again a brand launched by the specialty group and they too have experimented heavily with the Chinese food, we all know. The price is something around      Rs 495 + taxes. Just like Oh! Calcutta, they too serve 2-3 starters, soups, 4 main courses and deserts that really provides the appropriate ending to the lunch.
          Overall i will give it
          8/10 Stars
  • barbecue nation( DLF city phase IV, Gurgaon). One of the best restaurants i have ever dined in and believed me out of this joint no-one comes out unhappy or dissatisfied. This restaurant provides a unique service. Every table has a small flag, at first you may think that it is just a show piece but the whole idea is that, they keep on serving starters which include innumerable kebabs but veg and non veg.And then comes the lunch. Just like the previous restaurants this too serves dishes that are very different from the other and their distinct taste can be tasted. Here the only weak point is the lunch. Though i understand that after having such brilliant entrees  the lunch moves out of focus. This restaurant also nails the ambiance, the idea of serving the entrees on the table grill itself in order to make that it is hot is eye-catching and very efficient.
        Overall i score it
        7/8 Stars
( lost some stars only and only for the lunch rest was awesome)
  • Indi Joe: Personally, i always wanted to go to restaurant that served continental buffets such as pastas, lasagna, pizzas, etc. And this is what Indi Joe does. It not only serves Indian food but also serves exceptionally well-made continental food. It has a good ambiance and also has a advantage of being a bar. It has a outlet in Ambience mall, Gurgaon. All the dishes is once again very distinct, what it lacks is the taste to certain extent. Though the effort is valiant but i would scored it much higher if they could nailed the taste of the dishes
        Overall I score it
        6/10 Stars
Music with dinner is an insult to both the cook and the violinist.
G.K.Chesterton(1874-1936)
This quote is very appropriates in this case as these restaurants completely concentrate on the food and makes sure that every customer they serve is happy.
My advice try out all of them and you decide which one you like is the
best. Cause for me it is very difficult to decide

         Bon appetit

Cost OR Quality ............. why not both!

Hello everyone,
I often see that people live in a dilemma that where to go or which restaurant to visit. people remain confused whether to go to a place with good quality food or put a limit on the budget.
BUT why choose when we can have both, yes we can have of both the worlds and this post is completely dedicated to showcase those restaurants which serve good quality food in very affordable and reasonable price.

we often tend to forget that good food is available in good prices too. Here is a list of such restaurant
  • New york street : This restaurant is a very good example of what this blog is all about. It serves good continental food at quiet reasonable prices. The menu contains "chicken a la King", "garlic bread" etc. this place also serves a number of well made starters. But like all good things have disadvantages, this has too. This restaurant doesn't provide a wide array of dishes and doesn't have a huge menu list. It also has no proper ambiance as even though it is good place but still remains a part in the SHIPRA MALL FOOD COURT(Indirapuram).
Over all I will give it
           7/10 Stars
  • Let's Noodle: This restaurant is also in Shipra mall. Located on the third floor near the Box office ticket counters. This restaurant redefines Chinese food at reasonable prices. The various dishes which includes "chilli garlic noodles" and the "vegetables in black bean or in garlic sauce" is very, very good. It also specializes in non-vegetarian dishes. But again the main problem here is too the lack of variety, almost all the dishes taste the same.It also loses stars in ambiance and list of dishes in the menu list. But they do get kudos for trying hard to provide good quality food at very reasonable prices.
           Overall i would give it
           8/10 Stars
  • Masakali: this place is in the Great India place mall. located on the third floor. it provides good Indian and Mughlai food in quite reasonable prices. The menu is also quite big and also has a moderate ambiance. The problem here is that it is small in area as a result it is most often ignored. the ambiance is very dark too.
           Overall I give it a
           6/10 Stars.

Out of these restaurants Lets' Noddle clinches the victory by only 1 Star.

The Bistro near by

Hello everyone I am Soura.
This is my first post in fact this is my first blog. And i have decided that my aim is to spread the word of good food to people so that they too can share the joy of it.
As I have written in my profile I love to eat at new places and try new dishes.

A  month  or two ago my family and i went to "Cafe lemon Twist" in sec 63 . this place is not very old. for starters we order a plate of chicken Souvlaki with Tatziki sauce and pita bread.

For all, chicken Souvlaki is a traditional Greek dish
in which the chicken in sauteed with different kinds of herbs and is served with pita bread and tatziki which is a sauce made with curd, cucumbers and chillies. This was my first taste of Greek cuisine, so i had absolutely no idea to what it should be.
But once the first piece of the chicken went in my buccal cavity, the whole protein completely dissolved inside. the herb crust on the outside was awesome and the tenderness of the chicken was an added boon. But the problem was the tatziki and the pita bread.
First things first, the tatziki was under-seasoned and lacked the zing and punch of lemon and herbs.
on the other hand, the pita bread too lacked taste and was a bit too hard to eat.
Next was the main course. My parents had ordered for a "all American platter" and i had ordered for " pan fried fish in lemon butter sauce."
the thing i liked i most was the quantity of the dishes they serve but soon this positive sensation was overpowered by many intricate problem.
one of the main problem was that the lemon butter sauce was too sour and it completely made the original taste of the fish unrecognizable. the homemade salad was too bland. in the all American platter some pieces of chicken add more herbs than others.

Frankly speaking i would have said that the food was good if their price was in accord with their quality.
But unfortunately, the restaurant is quiet over priced and has a very limited menu.
on a happier note the ambiance of the restaurant is magnificent and service is very good. the coffee is also very good and it lives up to its name of being a bistro.
"Eat the breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and the dinner like a pauper"
so if you go there to spend your time with a cup of coffee and want to eat only a bit just for experience of it. it is must place. But as soon as you shift your attention to the quality and price of the food, you can afford to miss this restaurant out and believe me you won't miss much.

Overall I would say,
5/10 stars
